We knew we needed to capitalize off the most anticipated movie in years. Rather than create our own story and take fans out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we chose to become a part of this world. We joined the hero’s journey of Peter Parker and made the IONIQ 5 an organic character within it. Taking place after the end of the second film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter’s identity has been revealed to the world. Shot by Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts, our story picks up with Peter in hiding somewhere in rural America.
Needing to return to New York to clear his name, our favorite web-slinger quickly finds himself with nothing to swing from in the 1-story world of rural America. The advanced tech features and 300-mile range of the all-electric IONIQ 5 provided just the right features for Peter’s “man behind the wheel”, Ned, to save the day and for the IONIQ 5 to have its hero moment. Easter eggs for fans to search for and incessantly hypothesize over online were riddled throughout to increase re-watchability and generate debate and speculation right up until the film opened.
The anticipation and excitement only continues to grow as we see the two reunited friends driving back to New York City wondering what will happen next in the film trilogy’s finale.
